Anytime I want to lose weight and do it quickly, I come back to this one.  Mostly because it doesn’t feel like a diet.  And because it helps refocus the purpose of food… from “social” and “entertainment” to, well… fuel.  But mostly because it doesn’t feel like a diet.

1)  Don’t eat things that are (or can be) white.  Bread, pasta, rice, cereal, potatoes, and fried foods with breading.

2)  Eat the same few meals over and over again, picking one from each of the groups below for each meal:

Proteins:
Egg whites with one whole egg for flavor
Chicken breast or thigh
Grass-fed organic beef
Pork

Legumes:
Lentils
Black beans
Pinto beans

Vegetables:
Spinach
Asparagus
Peas
Mixed vegetables

3)  Don’t drink calories. Drink lots of water, and as much unsweetened tea, diet sodas, coffee (w/o cream), etc.  Don’t drink milk, normal soft drinks, or fruit juice.

4)  Take a “Dieters Gone Wild” day once a week.  Eat whatever you want on this day (wake up to sleeping, less than 24 hours).  Ice cream, snickers, and a dozen doughnuts from Krispy Kreme are all fair game.  The idea is to spike your caloric intake for a short amount of time, thus keeping your metabolic rate from downregulating from extended caloric restriction.  Plus, it makes you sick of your cravings, so you stick to the plan 6 days a week.  :)
