Tonight… Superbowl party with C and some new friends.  Haven’t decided who I’ll be cheering for (poor Dallas… I was hoping…), but I have a feeling Peyton Manning is going to out-perform Brees tonight.  Just a hunch.  Your thoughts?

The best birthday ever.

I have a wonderful girlfriend, a great family, and a great white-collar career that I love. Sushi and a musical last night. It was the best birthday I’ve ever had. Thanks to all who helped make it extra special…

It's Five O'Clock Somewhere...

…and that would be here.

Dual 27-inch LCD's on my own Mac PRO...

Running Snow Leopard and CS4 everything.

Okay, now that I have your attention, mac people… We’re coming up on the end of my first week at CSI as their “Multimedia Designer” (the official title, I found out).  They already have me redesigning and reorganizing their intranet, which was in a complete mess when I got there.  Fun stuff.  No really… fun stuff.  :)

I’m still decorating the office in my downtime, so I’ll share pics of my new career-home next week.

Until then… After the initial shock, what are your iPad thoughts?

This is incredibly funny…  Oh… DON’T MAKE ME SING…

I’ve played for some Heartsong auditions that remind me of this.  “And… SING NOW.  And… SING.  SING.”

Anytime I want to lose weight and do it quickly, I come back to this one.  Mostly because it doesn’t feel like a diet.  And because it helps refocus the purpose of food… from “social” and “entertainment” to, well… fuel.  But mostly because it doesn’t feel like a diet.

1)  Don’t eat things that are (or can be) white.  Bread, pasta, rice, cereal, potatoes, and fried foods with breading.

2)  Eat the same few meals over and over again, picking one from each of the groups below for each meal:

Proteins:
Egg whites with one whole egg for flavor
Chicken breast or thigh
Grass-fed organic beef
Pork

Legumes:
Lentils
Black beans
Pinto beans

Vegetables:
Spinach
Asparagus
Peas
Mixed vegetables

3)  Don’t drink calories. Drink lots of water, and as much unsweetened tea, diet sodas, coffee (w/o cream), etc.  Don’t drink milk, normal soft drinks, or fruit juice.

4)  Take a “Dieters Gone Wild” day once a week.  Eat whatever you want on this day (wake up to sleeping, less than 24 hours).  Ice cream, snickers, and a dozen doughnuts from Krispy Kreme are all fair game.  The idea is to spike your caloric intake for a short amount of time, thus keeping your metabolic rate from downregulating from extended caloric restriction.  Plus, it makes you sick of your cravings, so you stick to the plan 6 days a week.  :)

Tingsek ‘World Of Its Own’

This is the song I woke up with.  It will probably be stuck in my head all day.

Thanks to Jesca Wilkes for introducing me to Tingsek in college.  They’re still one of my favorites.  :)

When people talk… if it’s inaccurate, MOVE ON. People who get it wrong and talk about it are crooked, and they will go to the grave crooked.

Ramit Sethi, co-founder of PBWorks (formerly PBWiki), talks about how, as a rule, it will always get harder to do the things you want and/or need to do.  It’s a great article for those wanting to make a change, or those needing a little push to get going on your New Years’ resolutions.
