I was going along my merry way, when the world came down around my ears. This was a few short months ago, and, sparing the details, I’ll share the following lesson that I’ve learned…
Once there was a zebra. He loved being a zebra. He loved his stripes, he loved being black and white, he loved everything about himself. Then, there was a leopard that caught his eye. This leopard had the most gorgeous spots he had ever seen. Leopard fell in love with Zebra as well… and they were happy being with each other.
Zebra grew to like Leopard’s spots, though, so much that he began to lose his own stripes. He tried to grow spots… and as Zebra’s stripes faded and left, one by one, Leopard fell out of love with him, because he was no longer the unique, stunning Zebra that she fell in love with.
The moral of the story is this: Be yourself. Don’t change you for anyone but yourself. Compromise will be needed, but you will retain your identity as a whole, unique individual. Giving up the “I” for being in love with the “us” is not a solution to anything, because having two “I’s” in love with each other is not a problem. Compromise, don’t change.
After a 36-hour working streak (and with special thanks to programmer Ravi), we have come to the point of uploading all of our content into the new management system for the Christian Songwriter Development Program. This part will take about three days, and then we will be linking up with each of our current students to plug you back in.
Then, new students will be able to join as well.
Gotta’ run, lots to do. Talk to you soon!
For the last three months, I have had the privilege of serving as the Director of Songwriter Development for the CSD Network, an organization dedicated to the latest and best education for Christian Songwriters. Now, in less than a week, we will be revealing the latest updates to the program, as well as running a great special for all who wish to take their songwriting to the next level.
I am very excited about the latest turn in the road for the Christian Songwriter Development Network, and I can not wait to see the impact it has on the world of Christian Songwriting.
Hang on tight.
